We’ll continue in the our Keeping Scrapbooking Simple Series. We’ll be using the Creative Memories 52 Scrapbooking Project Recipe Book. I’ve selected several layouts that I consider “simple” — meaning easy paper cuts, straightforward photo placement, and just a few fun embellishments to finish it off, but there is always a “special technique”!

This week, I’ll be working with Recipe #51 on page 106 of the book, and I’ll show you how to use the project recipe to recreate a beautiful double-page layout! Don’t miss it!

Workshop Wednesday: Keeping It Simple — A Cold Layout for a Hot National Park Memory

This week’s Workshop Wednesday is the final installment in my Keeping It Simple series using the Creative Memories 52 Project Recipe Book — and we’re ending on a cool note!

I’m using Project Recipe #51 to create another page in my daughter’s National Park Album, and the best part? This is a cold layout, which means we’re fully embracing a winter theme. Sometimes National Park memories aren’t all sunshine and hiking boots — sometimes they’re snow-covered views, chilly mornings, and breathtaking winter landscapes.

This layout is a great reminder of how flexible the Project Recipes really are. Even within a simple framework, you can easily adapt a design to fit the season, the mood, and the story you want to tell — without overcomplicating the process.

What you’ll see in this week’s layout:

• Project Recipe #51 used exactly as intended — simple and efficient

• A winter-inspired National Park page that feels calm, clean, and cohesive

• Easy tips for working with cooler color palettes and winter papers, like those in the Winter Bliss Collection.

• Another meaningful page completed in the National Park album (progress feels so good!)

I love closing out this series with a reminder that simple works — and that winter layouts deserve just as much love as sunny ones.
