Workshop Wednesday ~ 8/20/25

Join me on Facebook this Wednesday, August 20th, for Workshop Wednesday!

We’ll continue in the our Keeping Scrapbooking Simple Series. We’ll be using the Creative Memories 52 Scrapbooking Project Recipe Book. I’ve selected several layouts that I consider “simple” — meaning easy paper cuts, straightforward photo placement, and just a few fun embellishments to finish it off, but there is always a “special technique”!

This week, I’ll be working with Recipe #9 on page 22 of the book, and I’ll show you how to use the project recipe to recreate a beautiful double-page layout! Don’t miss it!

This week in Workshop Wednesday, we’re heading back to the desert — one of my favorite backdrops for National Park photos. With warm tones, rugged landscapes, and wide-open skies, the desert deserves a layout that’s just as striking as the scenery itself.

For this project, I’m combining two collections: the Desert Scenes Paper Pack and the Leave Nothing Behind Collection. Together, they create a perfect blend of earthy neutrals, pops of color, and nature-inspired designs that highlight the beauty of desert adventures.

What you’ll see in this layout:

  • How to mix and match papers from different collections for a seamless look

  • A 2-page design that balances photos, journaling, and embellishments

  • Fresh ideas for using desert-themed papers without overwhelming your photos

  • Simple steps to keep your pages clean, coordinated, and easy to recreate

This layout will become another chapter in my daughter’s National Park scrapbook, and I love how it captures the spirit of the desert while keeping the design approachable and fun.

If you’ve got photos from a desert hike, road trip, or sun-soaked adventure, this project will give you the inspiration you need to get them onto the page.

Happy scrapping,
Diane
