Chasing The Sun Playful & Polished Cutting Guide (6-double page layouts)

Take Your Chasing the Sun Pages a Little Further

I love a simple scrapbook page—but every once in a while, I want to play with the details!

That’s where my Playful & Polished Cutting Guide comes in.

For this guide, we’re taking the beautiful Chasing the Sun collection and adding a little more creativity through layers, punches, embellishments and design details.

The goal isn't to make scrapbooking complicated.

It’s to take a good layout and ask:

“What can I add to make this page feel a little more special?”

From Simple to Special

The foundation of the layout is still easy to follow. You’ll have cutting instructions to take the guesswork out of creating the basic design.

But then we get to have some fun!

This is where you can pull out your punches, embellishments and favorite tools and start adding those little details that give a page personality.

Think:

  • Layered punched shapes

  • Decorative borders

  • Paper layers

  • Embellishment clusters

  • Little details tucked behind photos

  • Unexpected pops of pattern and dimension

You don't have to use every technique on every page. Sometimes one extra detail is all it takes.

Playful AND Polished

That combination is important to me.

Playful doesn't have to mean everything is scattered everywhere.

And polished doesn't have to mean boring or formal.

The magic happens when you combine the two.

Repeating a shape or color can make your page feel coordinated. Layering different sizes can create a focal point. Tucking an embellishment partially behind another element can add dimension.

These little choices make a difference.

Let Yourself Experiment

One of the things I want you to do with this guide is play!

Try a different punch.

Move an embellishment.

Add another layer.

Change the placement of a small decorative piece.

You might even discover a technique that becomes one of your new favorites.

And if you don't love what you tried?

Move it!

That's the beauty of working with paper. 😉
