Workshop Wednesday ~ 6/11/25

Join me on Facebook this Wednesday, July 2nd, for Workshop Wednesday!

We’ll continue in the our Keeping Scrapbooking Simple Series. We’ll be using the Creative Memories 52 Scrapbooking Project Recipe Book. I’ve selected several layouts that I consider “simple” — meaning easy paper cuts, straightforward photo placement, and just a few fun embellishments to finish it off, but there is always a “special technique”!

This week, I’ll be working with Recipe #1 on page 6 of the book, and I’ll show you how to use the project recipe to recreate a beautiful double-page layout! Don’t miss it!

Workshop Wednesday: Keeping It Simple — Patriotic Style!
by Diane Gutierrez Scrapbooking

This week’s Workshop Wednesday is all about celebrating simplicity — with a bold and patriotic twist! I’m diving into the Creative Memories 52 Project Recipe Book and transforming one of the layouts into a star-spangled design using the All-American Blast Collection.

If you’ve got 4th of July memories, backyard BBQs, parades, or military celebrations to document, this layout is perfect for giving those moments a vibrant red, white, and blue backdrop. ❤️🤍💙

I’ll walk you through how I took the original project recipe and made a few creative swaps to bring out the patriotic feel — while still keeping it quick, clean, and simple.

What you’ll see in this week’s layout:

  • A classic Project Recipe layout reimagined for patriotic pages

  • Creative use of the All-American Blast papers and embellishments

  • Ideas for keeping your layout festive without overcomplicating it

  • Tips for quick cuts and easy assembly — perfect for a productive scrap session!

If you love layouts that come together quickly and let your paper shine, this one’s for you. Let’s get those summer memories on the page and celebrate with style!

Happy scrapping,
Diane
