Session #19 - 12 Months to Memories
12 Months to Memories – Session #19: Cheering You On!
We’re getting closer to the finish line!
For Session #19 of 12 Months to Memories ~ Scrapbooking for Busy People, we’re creating a fun, energetic double-page layout inspired by cheerleading.
Cheerleading pages are perfect for all those action-packed photos—performances, competitions, practices, team pictures, and those fun behind-the-scenes moments that are just as important as the big event.
But here’s one of my favorite things about this layout…
You don’t have to have cheerleading photos to use it!
The design works beautifully for almost any activity where you have lots of photos and plenty of energy to capture. Think sports, dance recitals, gymnastics, school activities, performances, or even a busy family day.
Let’s Keep It Simple
One of the goals of 12 Months to Memories has been to make scrapbooking feel manageable.
Instead of starting with a pile of photos and wondering, “Where do I even begin?”, each session gives you a plan for creating a complete double-page layout.
For this session, we’re letting the photos tell the story.
You can choose your favorite action shots, add a team or group photo, and include a few smaller details that help tell the story of the event.
And, of course, there’s room for a title and a little journaling!
A Layout With Lots of Possibilities
I love layouts that can be used beyond the theme they were originally designed for.
The cheerleading inspiration gives this page lots of energy, but the basic design can easily be adapted to your own memories.
Try it with:
🏐 Volleyball
⚽ Soccer
🏀 Basketball
💃 Dance
🤸 Gymnastics
🎭 Performances
🎓 School activities
🏃 Any other action-packed event
Just change the colors, embellishments, and title to match your story.
What Photos Should You Choose?
If you're ready to make this layout, pull together a collection of photos from one event or activity.
Don't worry about finding the perfect pictures.
Look for a combination of:
One or two larger photos to anchor the page
Several smaller action shots to show what happened
A group or team photo if you have one
A few detail photos that help bring the story to life
Remember, you don't have to scrapbook every photo you took. Choose the ones that help you remember what it felt like to be there.
We’re Getting So Close!
We’re now well into the second half of our 12 Months to Memories journey, and I hope you're seeing how much easier it can be to make progress when you have a simple plan.
One double-page layout at a time.
One group of photos at a time.
One story at a time.
That's how those empty albums slowly become albums filled with memories.
