Session #22 - 12 Months to Memories
12 Months to Memories – Session #22: More Photos, Less Paper!
Fall is full of wonderful memories to scrapbook! From Thanksgiving gatherings and family traditions to pumpkin patches, fall colors, and time spent together, there are often plenty of photos we'd love to get onto our pages.
But how do you fit lots of photos onto a double-page layout without using a mountain of patterned paper?
For Session #22 of 12 Months to Memories — Scrapbooking for Busy People, we're going to let our tools do some of the work!
More Photos, Less Paper!
This session is all about creating a fall- or Thanksgiving-themed double-page layout using lots of photos, limited paper, and just a couple of tools.
You don't need a dozen different patterned papers to make an interesting layout. Sometimes a few carefully chosen papers, combined with a little creativity, can go a long way.
And that's where our Border Tools and a border punch come in!
Let Your Borders Do the Work
Borders are one of my favorite ways to add interest to a layout without covering up precious photo space.
For this session, we'll use Creative Memories Border Cutting Tools along with a Border Punch to create decorative details that help bring the two pages together.
Borders can help you:
Connect your pages so the double-page spread feels cohesive.
Add personality without using lots of extra patterned paper.
Create movement and guide the eye across your layout.
Make simple paper combinations more interesting with decorative edges and details.
You can get a lot of mileage out of a small amount of paper when you let your tools help create the design!
Lots of Photos? No Problem!
Fall gatherings and Thanksgiving celebrations often give us more photos than we know what to do with.
The family group photo, the meal, the kids, the table decorations, the funny moments—we want to remember all of it!
For this layout, we'll focus on making room for those memories while using borders to add interest around them.
Remember, you don't have to use every photo you took. Choose the ones that help tell the story, then let the layout do its job.
And don't forget the little details that make the day special. A few words about a family tradition, a favorite dish, or a funny moment can help bring those photos back to life years from now.
Keep Your Supplies Simple
One of the things I want you to take away from this session is that you can create a beautiful layout without using lots of different supplies.
Start with your photos. Choose a few papers that work well together. Then use your tools to add the decorative touches that make the layout feel finished.
You can always change the colors to suit your own photos, whether you're documenting Thanksgiving, a fall festival, a trip to the pumpkin patch, or another autumn adventure.
The same design ideas can work for so many different stories!

You don't need endless supplies. You don't need to wait for the perfect collection. And you don't need to make every page complicated.
Sometimes all you need is a good design, a few favorite tools, and a collection of photos you want to remember.
So gather your fall photos, pull out those Border Tools, and let's create!
I'll see you for Session #22 of 12 Months to Memories — Scrapbooking for Busy People.
