The Hobbyist Advisor: When You Love Scrapbooking but Don't Want a Big Business
When people hear the phrase "Creative Memories Advisor," they often picture someone hosting events every weekend, running a large business, or constantly selling products.
But what if that's not what you want?
What if you simply love scrapbooking?
What if you want to preserve your memories, enjoy the products you already use, and maybe share them with a few friends along the way?
If that sounds like you, let me introduce you to what I call the Hobbyist Advisor.
You Don't Need Big Business Goals
One of the biggest misconceptions about becoming an Advisor is that everyone is expected to build a large customer base.
The truth is, many Advisors join for much simpler reasons.
They:
* Love scrapbooking
* Purchase products regularly
* Enjoy being part of a creative community
* Appreciate “discounts” on supplies
* Want access to training and inspiration
For them, becoming an Advisor isn't about building a business. It's about supporting a hobby they already enjoy.
You're Already Buying the Products
Think about your own scrapbooking journey.
If you're already purchasing albums, paper, embellishments, tools, and adhesives throughout the year, becoming an Advisor may simply be a smarter way to buy the products you love.
Many Hobbyist Advisors join because they realize they're already investing in their hobby and would enjoy receiving Advisor benefits while continuing to create.
Sharing Happens Naturally
Here's another myth:
You don't have to "sell."
Most Hobbyist Advisors simply share their enthusiasm with people they already know.
A friend sees a completed album and asks a question.
Someone notices a beautiful layout and wants to know what products were used.
A family member asks how you stay organized.
These conversations happen naturally because you're excited about what you're creating.
Many Hobbyist Advisors discover that helping a few friends order products feels less like selling and more like sharing something they genuinely enjoy.
The Best Customers Are Often Friends
Some Hobbyist Advisors never host classes.
Some never build websites.
Some don't advertise at all.
Instead, they help:
* a sister who wants to organize family photos
* a friend who attends crops
* a neighbor who wants to start memory keeping
* a small circle of scrapbook-loving friends
That's enough.
There is no requirement that your Advisor journey look like someone else's.
You Still Get the Benefits of Being on a Team
One of the things I love most is that even Hobbyist Advisors can enjoy the support of a team.
When you join my Crop Crew, you'll have access to:
* Classes and workshops
* Cutting guides and layouts
* Technique training
* Creative inspiration
* A supportive community of scrapbookers
Whether you're serving two friends or twenty customers, you're still part of the team.
What If Your Goals Change?
One of the beautiful things about starting as a Hobbyist Advisor is that there's no pressure to stay there.
Some people join simply for “discounts” and community.
Then over time they discover they enjoy teaching.
Or helping others.
Or sharing layouts online.
Or earning a little extra income.
And if that happens, wonderful.
If not, that's okay too.
There Is No "Right Way" to Be an Advisor
This may be the most important thing I can share.
Success doesn't look the same for everyone.
For some people, success is building a thriving business.
For others, success is preserving family memories while enjoying “discounts” on products they already love.
Both are valid.
Both are valuable.
And both have a place on my team.
Could a Hobbyist Advisor Path Be Right for You?
If you love scrapbooking but don't necessarily want a large business, becoming a Hobbyist Advisor might be worth exploring.
You can enjoy the products, connect with other scrapbookers, and share your passion with a few friends if you choose.
No pressure.
No expectations to become something you're not.
Just another way to enjoy the hobby you already love.
If you're curious about what being a Hobbyist Advisor looks like, I'd be happy to answer your questions and share my experience.
After all, many great Advisor journeys start with a simple love of preserving memories.
Note: The term “discount” is used loosely, as it is a commission you receive after you place an order on your own products.
